Is there a way we cna stop people from signing up under multiple names to start fight saround here. I know I am not the one to talk since I have 3 usernames due to forgetting my password. But I know there are quite a few posting under differnt names.

I don't think there is a way to prevent this, but I am not completely certain.
As you may have noticed, Jason is away on holiday and won't be returning for a while, but I will ask him about this when he returns.

On the many forums I have been on this goes on all the time. I think that if names are kicked out the membership would go down 1/3.
I do not think this forum is any different either and if people had to use one name only, there would be some big surprises as to who uses double and triple names on one forum.

I do not agree. I think most of the people on this forum are very forthright, and post under one name only. As for those who have a number of aliases, I do not think we would be surprised at all to learn "who is also who".

I think Buttercup has an excellent idea. Buttercup is also as cute as a bug's ear.

A lot of the problems that do happen come from the people who "hide" under assumed identities. If things were clear - one name for member - that problem would be eliminated. As for banning members, I understand wanting to avoid this unless it is a last resort. I think the problem is that negativity needs to be nipped in the bud. Jody you've been doing great. I think members who issue negative posts should be warned by the administration, and if they continue after being warned to stop, it is a valid measure.

Lou, as for losing one third of the members, I disagree. And regardless of what happens on other forums - and I am not naive, I have seen it - I don't think we want H&H to degenerate into that type of a situation. And with proper moderation and consideration, it doesn't need to happen.

Thank you for listening.

Are you suggesting then that people's privacy be disregarded ? In that case all of the comments in chat could be posted here.

I can guarantee you that Dreamer was suggesting no such thing.

And no, comments in chat may not be posted here. They are two entirely separate entities that have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

You are right. I don't think Buttercup's suggestion had anything to do with interfering with anyone's right to privacy.

Guess I'll edit this post as the one I was replying to has disappeared.
