View Full Version : Jason, I did some tests re: deleting posts!
Just to let you know, I tried to delete a single post that I started (with no replies) AND a post that I started (with replies) and I was able to delete BOTH. :) Have you decided to allow this or are you just teasing me? ;)
After your last post here, I turned on ALL deleting functionality for users just so we could play with it.
So now - in this forum only - you could have a thread grow under your original post, but still delete the whole thing because its your topic you started.
That's POWER!
;)
not very nice Jason! :D
I did a test on general - posted a message then tried to delete and couldn't. So what you are telling me (after getting my hopes up ;)) is that there is still no deleting (even single messages that a person starts with no replies).
May I ask why that part of the delete can't be turned on for everyone? It isn't deleting replies so won't interfere with other members comments. Or is this just a time consuming issue? This part isn't a big deal actually. I have only done these accidental posts a couple of times.
Thanks as usual for all your help ... you are the man! :D
Here's what I think we'll do:
- turn ON self-editing/self-deleting for users in general (it's already more or less on)
- turn OFF permission to trash an entire thread if it contains more than just the first post whether you started the topic or not.
- get the left navigation upgrade working and go from there
